10 Reasons Why Your Dog's Haircut Costs More Than Yours!

  1. You don't go for 8 weeks without washing or brushing your hair.

  2. Your hairdresser doesn't have to CARRY you back and forth, kicking and screaming, to the sink.

  3. Your hairdresser doesn't wash and clean your rear end and give you a sanitary trim!

  4. Your hairdresser doesn't clean your ears!

  5. Your hairdresser doesn't have to remove the boogies from your eyes.

  6. You sit still. You don't bite & scratch your hairdresser.

  7. Your hair cut doesn't include a manicure and pedicure.

  8. Your hairdresser only washes and cuts hair on your head!

  9. You don't decide to do an Operatic Solo at the top of your lungs and encourage all other patrons to join in!

  10. The likelihood of you peeing or pooping while your hair is being cut is slim.

Important Info

  Matting

If pets are excessively matted you will have the option of your pet receiving a short hair cut or not groomed at all.

We will not subject your pet to the painfull

process of de-matting!

Shaving a matted coat is a delicate and slow process requiring experience and expertise.  A dog’s skin is thin like tissue paper, and dense mats can cause it to become loose due to the weight of the matting. Clippers can easily cut loose skin if not done properly and safely.  Please note that severly matted dogs may benefit from being shaved by your veternarian.  We will advise you of this if we think this is necessary.

After shaving, a pet may develop an itchy skin response. Owners should watch to ensure that constant scratching does not cause the skin to become irritated.

Fleas and Ticks

All pets that are found to have a few fleas or ticks will receive a flea/tick bath for a additional charge.

If a pet has an EXCESSIVE amount of fleas, you will be notified; with your permission your pet will be given a Capstar pill. This pill will start to kill fleas within 1/2 hour and lasts 24 hours.  There WILL be an additional charge for this pill.

If you do not want this treatment, unfortunately we will not be able to groom your pet as we can not subject  other pets to these pests in our vehicles.  For more information about Capstar please call your veterinarian.

Fleas have been around for millions of years, sucking the blood of animals and humans. Fleas live on pets, mammals, in carpets, in sofas as well as other household and farm goods. In a typical room, 5 percent of the fleas
will be found on pets, 10 percent flea cocoons in the carpets, 35 percent flea larvae and 50 percent flea eggs, again in the carpets.

If we need to give your pet capstar, it is for the grooming process only.  It is very IMPORTANT that your pet be on a flea control program.  Here is a comparison list of products that may be available (but check with your veterinarian first).  This list is for your information only.  LIST OF FLEA PRODUCTS
